their story, my story, and yours

Amidst the chaos of the crowd,

I am fallen and trembling.

Yet, He tenderly – powerfully – heals me, unhides me, calms me, and calls me out :

“Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

Amidst the ridicule of the crowd –

the weepers and the mourners –

it does not trouble the Teacher to care and then declare :

“Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”

“Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.”

He tenderly takes me by the hand and – with authority over every layer of death – He speaks :

“Little girl, arise.”

My spirit returns, and I obey.

He then commands me to eat –

to LIVE.

Astonished.
