It was five o’clock P.M., and it didn’t look like night.
The sun seemed happy to linger, shining a smile through the trees so bright.
Hints of spring in the air made this wintered-heart feel giddy and light.
Soon the ground will be green again; colorful blossoms and flourishing white.
A yearly reminder that winter (the season and of soul) will One Day vanish from sight.
For the King of creation redeems with grace and will make all things new and right.
Until then, I fix my gaze on Him in whom is always spring delight;
And rest in His trustworthy arms that through each season hold me tight.
Today, when warmer temperatures launched joy to a seasonal height,
I caught a shadowed glimpse of eternal spring, and the veil between us seemed so slight.
