two sets of tears // a reflection on my husband’s sermon today

Eve, we know why you’re weeping.

You are hiding in your shame . . . you were deceived.

The garden turned into a tomb, and the curse of sin has come.

Now, thorns on the ground and pain in your womb; an uncrossable chasm of death.

The cool of the day is no more. Darkness is here –

The bird flies away, the flower dies . . .

All things broken.

* * * * * * *

“Mary, why are you weeping?”

You are searching in your sadness . . . HE IS ALIVE!

The tomb turned into a garden, and the curse of sin is reversed!

Jesus wore the thorns and bore your pain; bridged the chasm with His cross.

The curtain is now torn. Morning is here –

The bird sings again, the flower blooms . . .

ALL THINGS NEW.

  1. Bro. David preached a very powerful and inspiring sermon today. Everything we heard was pointing us to the celebration of Resurrection Sunday! Jesus is our salvation and only hope! Praise His Holy Name!
