A chorus of birds sing uncharacteristically early, as if to declare,

“HE’S ALIVE!”

My soul rejoices and rises to join in creation’s song,

“HE’S ALIVE!”

And sing the old hymn, “CHRIST THE LORD IS RISEN TODAY! HALLELUJAH!”

“UP FROM THE GRAVE HE AROSE! HE AROSE! HE AROSE! HALLELUJAH, CHRIST AROSE!”

And the Scripture song :

“‘Death is swallowed up in victory.

O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?’

Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Glorious.

Victorious.

Mysterious.

Sin says, “No thank you, God. I’ll do it my way.”

Yet all sin leads to death, and for all sin, death is the price to pay.

But our Rescuer came to say, “I will live the life for you. I will die the death for you. I will pay the price for you, in the place of you.”

How can it be? This is TOO GOOD to be true!

His body broken, blood poured out, completing all that was required for salvation.

“IT IS FINISHED.”

We serve the Risen King of Glory!

Risen in Victory.

Changing history.

Holding the mystery.

As He reigns completely.

Trustworthy.

Ruling in fullness of wisdom and goodness and love.

He is Love.

Creation sings,

“HE’S ALIVE!”

JESUS IS ALIVE.

And I’m alive, too, because the Risen King lives in me.
